The operation of the Global Red Meat Standard is managed on a day-to-day basis by the GRMS Secre-tariat with input from the Technical Working Group and the Stakeholder Group. The GRMS Secretariat is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the GRMS. This includes:
- Chairing the Technical Working Group
- Secretary for the GRMS Governance Board
- Coordinating the annual review of the Standard and feedback from stakeholders
- Producing interpretations and clarifications of the Standard
- Answering all enquiries regarding the Standard
- Liaising with Certification Bodies, manufacturers, retailers and others using the Standard
- Liaising with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)
- Attending and speaking at conferences and meetings to promote the Standard
- Checking compliance to the Standard to maintain the Standard's integrity
- Checking and registration of Certification Bodies and their auditors and maintenance of these re-cords
- Coordinating the growth of the Standard in new markets.
